Coordination for glass artists Noriaki Etoh and Megumi Nishihara by Jackie & Partners

Noriaki Etoh and Megumi Nishihara are ever evolving artists. This time, the accepted the challenge of creating 10 different glass and mixed medium pieces for a newly opened hotel in Naha, Okinawa. Taking inspiration from Okinawa's natural beauty, they created pieces representing the flowers, sea shells, water, and the sea.
The pieces were placed in the lobby and restaurant spaces of the hotel and blended beautifully with the hotel's interior  that utilised Okinawa's culture and natural environment as a focal point for the design concept. The white circular lobby piece was a product of a new technique discovered by Noriaki and Megumi where they used porcelain clay as the foundation of the piece topped with glass sand, glass beads, and Okinawa Ryukyu glass.
