Jordi Palomares studied at the “Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música” of Barcelona, where he obtained the highest qualification: the first prize of virtuosity in 1986. Continuing his studies he moved to the United States with a scholarship from the “Hartt School of Music” (University of Hartford-Connecticut), under the direction of Luiz de Moura Castro, receiving the “Artist Diploma” in 1988. He was also honored with the “Hartt Talent Award.”

Jordi Palomares studied at the “Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música” of Barcelona, where he obtained the highest qualification: the first prize of virtuosity in 1986. Continuing his studies he moved to the United States with a scholarship from the “Hartt School of Music” (University of Hartford-Connecticut), under the direction of Luiz de Moura Castro, receiving the “Artist Diploma” in 1988. Following this, he continued his piano studies with Nina Svetlanova (Teacher with the Manhattan School of Music – New York). Afterwards he studied Orchestral Conducting with Uwe Mund (“Gran Teatre de Liceu” –Barcelona) and in 1994 earned a Diploma of Orchestral Conducting at the Sweelinck Conservatorium of Amsterdam, where he studied with Joop van Zon.
His passion to share music the music he inherited from great Spanish composers has taken him extensively through Europe, the United States and Japan. He always finds a way to allow his music to tell the tales of his ancestors and represent Spanish culture. Since 2003 Jordi has taught at the “Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya” in Barcelona.
