LumiPierre, the glass and stone art brand from Tecnoform produced a three piece glass and marble sculpture series this year. These artworks are the first of their kind in Japan and were created with an original technique conceived by the artists. The sculptures were commissioned as part of an interior renovation project for a renowned Tokyo hotel. They are currently on display in the bar and lounge of the property.
The concept for these exquisite pieces was Man and Woman and the Aura that surrounds them:
The two bar sculptures represent the dance of attraction between Man and Woman, and the powerful energy that draws two people together. These glass and marble pieces were created in the image of the allure of the other, be it Man or Woman.
It is said that the aura emitted from a person originates from the center of the body and expands into the surroundings in a round or oval-like shape. The lounge piece is a depiction of that oval shaped aura that envelopes the man and woman. In one object the two are brought together and two auras become one.
Aura, energy, and spirit combine as the two pieces on the bar counter as they talk together, share together, and ultimately, come together. It is in that image these two sculptures were molded. The hope is for the warm aura of the man and woman to engulf the space create a relaxing atmosphere for people to experience in their presence.
