In 2015 Jackie & Partners orchestrated an art and artist exchange agreement to link Barcelona and Kyoto through art via the KICC (Kyoto International Craft Centre) and the A-FAD (Fomento para las Artes Decorativas). The first event of this exchange between the KICC and the A-FAD will take place from October 16 to October 22nd. Jackie & Partners with the collaboration of Caean assisted the KICC in preparing the event which includes an exhibition of jewellery, ceramics, painted silk textiles, Catalan paper, and basketry.

In 2015 Jackie & Partners orchestrated an art and artist exchange agreement to link Barcelona and Kyoto through art via the KICC (Kyoto International Craft Centre) and the A-FAD (Fomento para las Artes Decorativas). The first event of this exchange between the KICC and the A-FAD took place from October 16 to October 22, 2015. Jackie & Partners assisted the KICC in preparing the event which includes an exhibition of jewellery, ceramics, painted silk textiles, Catalan paper, and basketry.
Attending the event from Barcelona was: Magda Polo Pujadas (A-FAD president), Enric & Roc Majoral (jewellery artists), Toni Cumella (ceramic artist), Kima Guitart (textile artist), Victoria Rabal (paper artist), and Joan Farré (basketry), each of them influential figures in their area of expertise in Catalonia and in Spain.
Following the exhibition opening and reception where the Spanish artists for the , the artists will participate in round table discussions and atelier visits and workshops with Japanese artists of the same discipline to exchange ideas about traditional techniques and modern interpretations of tradition. The artists and Magda Polo Pujadas will also conduct lectures and workshops at Seika University and Kyoto University of Art and Design. Finally, on the evening of the 20th of October, Kima Guitart’s clothing will be put on display in a fashion show at Kodaiji Temple.
This week of activities and events for the guests from Barcelona will be engaging and informative for all parties, and will be the beginning of strong bond tying Kyoto and Barcelona together through art. Jackie & Partners is honoured to be a part of this event and is looking forward to welcoming the people coming from Catalonia to Kyoto.
