TEATRO JUAN BRAVO SEGOVIA. This exhibition is a snapshot of contemporary Japan, highlighting the juxtaposition of past and present cultural values. Despite being geographically isolated, Japan has always looked to the outside world for inspiration and has been able to absorb and transform aspects of other cultures and make them uniquely Japanese. “The Beauty of Japan: Past and Present,” shows an important part of modern Japanese culture through the work of artists and designers of traditional and contemporary art.

Intercultural awareness has made way for opportunities of mutual enrichment between cultures and societies. The exhibition “Bellezas del Japón Contempóraneo y Tradicional” (The Beauty of Japan: Past and Present) was envisioned for this purpose.

This exhibition has been officially included in the events commemorating the 400th anniversary of relations between Japan and Spain.
