This novella is widely considered to be one of the most influential works of fiction in the 20th century.
La Fura dels Baus performed an adapted version of this novella as part of the Spanish program at the World Exposition in Aichi, Japan in 2005. The theatre company is famous for redefining "space" in their productions by breaking down the "fourth wall" and changing the way the audience interacts with the performers. Their ability to create the unexpected is what has given them international recognition.
