BUNKAMURA TOKYO. Enramblao means “in the streets of Barcelona”. The Rambla is the liveliest avenue in Barcelona, where "different people coexist without discrimination over race, sex, or cultural background” says Rafael Amargo. He explains, “I consider the Rambla as a mirror image of Spain's contemporary society, so I tried to include these ideas into my flamenco performance." Enramblao portrays the homeless, street artists, prostitutes, lone buskers, passers-by and the like with the use of varied music ranging from flamenco to contemporary. Aside from the flamenco, the show includes a variety of dance styles including tap and bread dance, all of which colorfully conveys the vigor of the streets.
