Kima Guitart is one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century.
Kima started painting in the early 70’s, because she was fascinated by a scarf that her brother had given to his daughter, a scarf bought in Paris. That’s how it all began. Then came the search for excellence. After her studies at l’Escola d’Arts I Oficis and enamels in the workshop of Montserrat Xivola, she got a scholarship to study at the Instituto d’Arte di Porta Romana in Florence. In Paris she studied Japanese and Chinese silk painting techniques.
Her years in New York and her time at the Fashion Institute of Technology reinforced the uniqueness of her unique and timeless creations.
Today she is one of the most famous designers of her country.
